Under the terms of the contract, Honeywell UOP will provide process technology, engineering design, key equipment, catalysts and adsorbents to the new facility which is expected to have an annual crude processing capacity of 20 million tonnes.
Sinochem Hongrun Petrochemicals has plans to use Honeywell UOP’s Isoalky ionic liquids alkylation technology to produce cleaner-burning fuels at its refinery complex in China. The specialised technology is the maiden successful liquid alkylation technology to be introduced in more than 75 years.
Jiangsu Sailboat Petrochemical is making use of Honeywell UOP’s C3 Oleflex technology to produce propylene in order to meet the rising demand of plastics in China. The C3 Oleflex technology uses catalytic dehydrogenation to convert propane to propylene.
Honeywell announced that Jizzakh Petroleum will use Honeywell UOP technologies to build a new refinery capable of processing 5 million tons per year of crude oil to produce gasoline, diesel and jet fuel. The refinery is being built in the Jizzakh region of Eastern Uzbekistan.
Honeywell announced that Shandong Wonfull Petrochemical will use UOP’s C3 Oleflex propane dehydrogenation technology to produce 250,000 metric tons per year of polymer-grade propylene at its facility in the Huantai Economic Development Zone in China’s Shandong Province.
Honeywell has named John Gugel as president of Honeywell UOP. Prior to his current role, Gugel served as vice president and general manager of the company's Process Technology and Equipment business, and prior to that, held the same role as head of the Gas Processing and Hydrogen business.
