The contact-free sensors employ an external position magnet that reliably generates an absolute output signal across a measuring range of 0° to 360°. The use of an external magnet ensures wear-free operation for the life of the device.

Ultra-compact and shock resistant

The ultra-compact housing of the PRAS20/21-series sensors features a protection rating of IP60. Only 6 mm high, the package is ideal for installation in compact medical devices. Additionally, because the electronics are fully moulded, these angle sensors can withstand strong shocks and vibrations. They are equipped with the analogue outputs of 0.5–4.5 V, 0.5–10 V or 4–20 mA. A redundant second output is available as an option for the PRAS20 series.

Use in the operating theatre

Resolution is 0.03% over an angular range of 60° to 360° or, alternatively, 0.1% over 15° to 45°. Repeat accuracy is ±0.03% for 60° to 360°) or ±0.1% over 15° to 45° at a linearity of ±0.5% across the full measuring range. The maximum measurement range is 360°, and various smaller ranges can be supplied. Among the numerous medical OEM applications for which the ultra-flat sensor series is useful can be counted surgical operating tables.
