Internet Platform Free information service for medical technology companies
The road from good concept to market-ready medical device can be a long one—for some companies, too long. The MedTech-Navigator, a free Internet platform, now is available to help German medical technology companies overcome innovation hurdles and get devices to market faster.
Firmen zum Thema
“For the first time, the MedTech-Navigator combines all relevant information offerings on topics such as clinical trials, statutory health insurance reimbursement, legal framework conditions, and funding in one compact overview,” explains Volker Clément of the communications agency MasterMedia, which has developed the online service in partnership with the industry association Spectaris.
Support for small enterprises
Adds Jan Wolter, head of the special medical technology association at Spectaris: “During the translation of research findings into medical devices, problems and issues can arise that can cause the whole process to meet with a glitch or even finish it off entirely.” The devisers of the new service expect small and medium-sized medical device manufacturers in particular to benefit from the availability of the MedTech-Navigator.
An expert service to answer questions
The MedTech-Navigator can provide assistance, for example, during the search for a suitable clinical trial partner. It can also shed light on European directives, explain cost reimbursement processes by statutory health insurers (GKV), and show where companies might obtain funding. Completing the range of its capabilities is an expert service to answer individual questions.
The MedTech-Navigator is available free of charge to all who are interested in using its services. Once registered, a logged-on user has unrestricted access to all information at the site.
