Our Mediprene® TPE compounds for medical tubing applications were developed in response to the growing demand among hospitals and medical institutions for PVC free medical devices. They are completely PVC, silicone and latex free, making them allergen free and a viable alternative to PVC based compounds.

The grades have been designed to address a number of key requirements for medical tubing; these include a high level of transparency, allowing for clear visibility of the passage of liquids and anti-kinking properties to ensure the free flow of liquids and gasses through the tubing. Mediprene TPE tubing grades also have good damping properties, thereby slowly recovering after deformation like PVC.

The grades are available in a range of hardnesses to suit the application and as a TPE displays excellent chemical resistance. Oil free compounds have been developed to minimize potential leaching and extractables.

Mediprene compounds are based on medically approved raw materials with high biocompatibility status and are sterilizable with gamma, EtO and steam.
