The Canted-coil design of the Bal Shield™ spring element, coupled with its excellent conductivity, enables it to shield sensitive electronics against electromagnetic interference (EMI). Bal Shield spring elements are ideal for use as shielding devices in products that are subject to shock, vibration, and temperature cycling.

Individual coils on the spring elements automatically compensate for surface irregularities and bridge gaps between two of more mating surfaces to properly ground and create a barrier that helps OEMs meet challenging EMI/RFI susceptibility and immunity requirements.

The ability to custom-engineer insertion and breakaway force makes the Bal Latch spring a perfect solution for surgical instruments and other devices that require fast, precise tool-less removal and reliable holding. These springs are easy to use, resist compression set, and have long cycle life.

A wide offering of medical-grade wire materials are available, including 316SS, 316L, as well as implantable materials that include Titanium, MP35N, 316LVM and Platinum Iridium. These springs are passivated, and they are able to withstand cleaning processes, including autoclaving, ETO or Gamma Ray Sterilization.
