Equipment Display Housing Series Includes Smaller Model

A housing series is flexible in terms of equipping with circuit boards, and, owing to its flat surfaces, is well suited for large displays or touch screens.

Buyer’s Guide 2010 Update: Manufacturing Services

Unitec-series housings from Odenwald-based Odenwälder Kunststoffwerke Gehäusesystem GmbH (OKW) feature two perpendicular operating panels at ergonomic inclinations of 72° and 18°. The panels can be used by two people simultaneously operating equipment and/or reading results, as, for example, a doctor and patient.

The new, smaller S size in the series has dimensions of 125 x 177 x 69 mm or 125 x 177 x 22 mm. In order to satisfy customer requirements, the upper and front sections can be supplied with different indentations: for example, with a circumferential user panel and a 0.6-mm indentation to accommodate decorative films; with upper and front sections each having areas delineated for membrane keyboards; with the upper section indented 0.6 mm and the front section indented 1.4 mm; or with the upper section indented 1.4 mm and the front section indented 0.6 mm.

Unitec housings are flexible in terms of outfitting, as circuit boards can be positioned in all three sections. Also, owing to their flat surfaces, the series is well suited for large displays or touch screens. The perpendicular operating panels allow the installation of electronics and interfaces as complete, prefabricated packages. The housing’s lower section comes as standard with bays suitable for service as separate battery compartments, but it can be supplied completely closed for operation using direct power supplies.
