VDI Medtech Product Management Seminar to Be Offered

Developing a cardiac valve for children: successful product development is the VDI seminar’s area of focus.

VDI (the Association of German Engineers) is offering, through its Wissensforum, a seminar on “Successful Product Management in Medical Technology” in Spitzingsee, Germany, this March 25 and 26 and in Hamburg on June 24 and 25. The event’s focus is on achieving product success consistently through preloading.

Preloading is understood by experts as the systematic gathering and evaluation of relevant initial quantities, along with customer and corporate requirements, during the early stage of product development. Numerous and extremely varied groups play a role in creating every type of medical technology product. These groups may support or may slow down the course of a project owing to their disparate interests and requirements.

The aims of the VDI seminar are to explain how to optimize the flow of information throughout the product creation chain and to analyze friction losses, and also to enable participants to close the gaps in communication between product managers, design engineers, designers and plastics processors.

With this event—which is part seminar and part coaching—the organizer addresses product managers, marketing heads, entrepreneurs, CEOs, technical directors, designers and strategic buyers within companies that are active in developing, designing, manufacturing and marketing plastic components for medical technology equipment.
